During your visit you will be able to discover or rediscover itsCastle, casino, famous thermal baths, “galeries Noires”(dark alleyways),Saint Gervais Church, the Cloître des Carmes (Carmelite cloister) and much more. Don’t forget to make a little detour to Cluzelet mill before you dive into one of the wonderful lagoon pools at Les Antilles de Jonzac. With its mild, sunny climate and exceptionally verdant setting, Jonzac is situated in the middle of a very popular tourist area.

Jonzac Château

Chateau de jonzacThe château was built on a natural defensive site overlooking the Seugne River. The Hundred Years War took its toll on this castle which can be traced back to 1059. Its current architecture with its impressive ‘châtelet d’entrée’ (gatehouse) and west tower dates back to the 15th century. It underwent several transformations in the 17th and 18th centuries, whilst retaining its dry wide moat. The medieval fortress gave way to a comfortable and meticulously-decorated central building.
